Teachers' data deserves care

Privacy Policy for
School Diary Pro.

School Diary Pro helps teachers prepare and share dated class diaries. This policy describes the app's local storage, optional backup and cloud features, and licensing checks.

Draft reviewed: October 24, 2026Developer: Seedling StudioAndroid app: School Diary Pro

1. Overview

School Diary Pro is a teacher-oriented daily diary application. You can create classes, subjects, assignments, reminders and notes, and optionally include your school's name in shared outputs. The core writing and viewing workflow works with data stored on your device. Cloud features require an internet connection and are optional except for periodic Google Play license verification in the paid release.

2. Information kept on your device

The app uses a local database and private preferences for class and section names, subject colors, dated diary entries, homework and classwork, teacher remarks, school name, calendar state, settings and related change history. This content may include personal details entered by a teacher; please do not add unnecessary student information.

Diary data stays in the app's local storage unless you initiate sharing or export, or enable Google Drive synchronization. Android system backup behavior is subject to device settings and the app's backup configuration.

3. When you share a diary

The app can prepare text, image and PDF representations of your diary, then hand them to an app or recipient selected through Android's sharing tools. Files are exposed to the selected destination through temporary, permission-controlled Android file access.

If you choose a public Google Drive PDF link, anyone with that link may be able to view the document. The app requests confirmation before enabling this link-sharing mode. Review diary content and recipients carefully before sending, especially where students are mentioned.

4. Manual backups and optional Google Drive sync

You may export a JSON backup using Android's document picker or import a selected backup into the app. The export can contain classes, subjects, dated assignments, comments and deletion history. You control where the file is saved and whether to share it.

If you connect your Google Account and enable Drive synchronization, the app can store and retrieve its diary records in the Google Drive area authorized for the app. Access is mediated by Google authorization. Disconnecting the account stops future synchronization, but previously uploaded data and any documents you shared may require separate removal using your Google account.

5. Paid-app license and integrity checks

Release builds use Google Play Integrity and a dedicated verification service to determine whether an installation is recognized and licensed. Verification processes technical information such as the app package and version, integrity verdicts, request timestamps, cryptographic request data and a device-bound pseudonymous identifier. A signed entitlement may be cached on the device for bounded offline use. This process is separate from the content of your school diaries.

6. External services

  • Google Play / Play Integrity: app purchase and installation verification.
  • Google Identity and Drive: optional account authorization, private diary synchronization and any expressly created Drive share links.
  • Cloudflare-hosted verification endpoint: processes technical license-verification requests for the paid app.
  • Apps chosen from Android's share sheet: receive only the diary content you explicitly send to them, subject to their own privacy terms.

Your Google Account and the third-party apps you select are governed by their respective service policies.

7. Your choices and deletion

You can edit and delete diary items from the app, export your records, disconnect optional Google Drive access and clear app data through Android settings. Uninstalling the app removes its on-device app data, subject to Android/device backup settings; manually exported files, previously shared PDFs and cloud copies are separate and must be managed where they were stored.

8. Student and child information

School Diary Pro is designed for teachers preparing class communications, not as a student account service. A teacher may choose to type student-related information into a diary. Schools and teachers remain responsible for deciding what may be included and shared, including obtaining any necessary permissions and following applicable school policies.

9. Security and changes

The app uses Android app storage, secure sharing through a FileProvider, platform authorization for Google services and transport security for online connections. No technical measure can make information already sent to another recipient fully retractable. We may update this policy when the app or its services change and will revise the date above.
